Bio

In his distinguished career at Salem State College, Schneider, in addition to being a member of the faculty, has served as Chairperson of the Men’s Physical Education Department, as the College’s first full-time Director of Athletics, and as head coach for two sports: soccer (14 years) and baseball (1 year). While serving in these positions h guided Salem State’s entry into both ECAC and NCAA competition and was active in the formation of the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference (MASCAC) in 1971.

 

Off-campus, Schneider has coached the Marblehead High School Girls’ Soccer team since 1978 and, under his guidance the team has won the Conference championship four times. Schneider has also been named Conference Soccer Coach of the Year. An active member of several professional associations, Schneider is a graduate of Springfield College where he received both his undergraduate and masters degrees. He resides in Marblehead with his wife, Mary Lou (Sabisch). The have three children, Susan, Linda and Bill
