Bio

After entering Salem State as a married veteran with a family, Knight became the guiding force in the formation of the ice hockey program. During the 1958-59 and the 1959-1960 seasons, the College competed as a club team. The 1960-61 season witnessed the beginning of intercollegiate competition in the sport. He played on the team all three years, serving as captain twice. He has continued his interest in hockey serving as a national Hockey League Off-Ice Official since the Washington Capitals entered the NHL in 1974. Knight, originally from Cambridge, and his wife Francesmake their home in Burtonsville, Maryland. They have four children Stephen, James, David and Jeffrey.
