Bio

An outstanding hockey player, Bruce Jangro began his Salem State College career by leading the freshman team in scoring. Moving to the varsity team where he played under the guidance of coach Barry Urbanski, again he led the team in scoring. He was named the ECAC Sophomore Payer of the Year and during his junior year was named to the ECAC All Star Team. During his senior year he repeated as an ECAC All-Star, was elected co-captain, named Most Valuable player and selected as an All-American.

 

Following graduation, Jangro was active in international hockey in Europe before returning to this country to play for the Chicago Warriors of the U.S. Hockey League. He has also competed in the semi-pro New England League and is active as a coach in the Wakefield Youth Hockey Program. A Melrose native, Jangro now lives in Wakefield with his wife Carol (Lawless) and their three children, Bruce Jr., Nicole and Brooke. He is employed by the Lionex Corporation.
